The teacher who uploaded the video has now been temporarily relieved of her duties while the incident is investigated. Some residents discussed the video at a town council meeting on Tuesday night.
"These are death threats," said Cheshire parent Amy Bourdon.
The video brought Bourdon to tears.
"Went and locked the front door of my house and that was a defining moment for me," Bourdon said.
Distressed, scared, and having been a Trump campaign volunteer for a decade, Bourdon called the police and said she was the first citizen to do so.
"Our lives have been targeted by someone who receives a salary from the town of Cheshire every week," Bourdon said.
"My grandson is coming here next year and will be in the teacher's district. I wouldn't let him go if he was there. I couldn't help but see that video," said Cheshire resident Lori Barnes.
Some residents called for the teacher to be fired, but they also spoke of their dissatisfaction with the town government for not issuing a statement against the politically charged video.

"Not only is it a shame that the whole world is watching this, but there has been no statement issued by the city condemning what she said," Bourdon said.
"It's important for all of us to stand up for what's right and what happened is wrong and the way our city handled it is even worse," Barnes said. "They need to say something."
