Racal appeared on local TV network ABS-CBN and spoke for over 10 minutes, delivering what appeared to be his version of the events, and apologizing. "Today, I will speak from my heart... Today I will take responsibility for everything... And I want to apologize for everything I have done," she said.
In her apology, Maris Racal stated that her relationship with Jennings began in June 2024. She felt lonely, and Jennings provided the attention she was looking for. She also claims that she did not know that Jennings was in a relationship with Villanueva at the time.

"I'm really embarrassed that people saw that intimate conversation without my consent. Against my will. I didn't know where I was going. Every time I went out, every time I walked, I felt like a naked woman walking," she said.
Racal went on to say that he regretted what he had done and added that he understood why Villanueva was angry. "I want to apologize to the people I have hurt," Racal explained.
