Prosecutors on Wednesday stated that Ibarra had chased Riley off the running track the morning of her disappearance, intending to rape her, but failed before he killed her.
The court was shown graphic images and a detailed report of what police found at the scene, along with phone records and fitness tracker data showing that Riley died about 20 minutes after her last phone call with her mother, shortly after 9am.
After her killer was sentenced, President-elect Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social: "JUSTICE FOR LAKEN RILEY! The illegal who killed our beloved Laken Riley has just been found GUILTY on all charges for his horrific crime.
